Job summary

AST SpaceMobile is seeking a detail-oriented CAD Product Structure Engineer to own BOM integrity and PLM governance across the product lifecycle. You will coordinate with design, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality to manage ECO/ECN workflows, data interfaces to ERP/MES, and ensure accurate as-designed vs as-built records.

This role requires strong CAD/BOM expertise, data governance, and excellent cross-functional communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in PLM/PDM and product-structure roles.
• Expertise with multi-level CAD-sourced BOMs in PLM.
• Experience with ECO/ECN and configuration audits.
• Strong data governance and cross-functional communication.
• Familiar with MBP/MBE or digital thread initiatives is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain CAD-sourced product structures and multi-level BOMs.
• Lead end-to-end ECO/ECN, deviations, waivers workflow.
• Analyze configuration change impacts across drawings, BOMs, ICDs.
• Govern CAD data release and revision lifecycle across sites.
• Interface CAD/PLM with ERP, MES, and quality systems.
• Resolve BOM discrepancies before production.
• Establish product-structure standards and naming conventions.
• Support MBD/digital thread through PMI/MBD datasets.
• Generate BOM reports and configuration audits for reviews.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain.
• Deliver training on PLM processes and structure standards.
• Participate in continuous improvement of change cycle times.
