Qualifications

Summary:

As the CAD Operator/BIM Specialist the candidates central focus will be CAD/BIM production, facilities information management, database records, updates, and integration into CDC's IFMS system to support current operations and future facilities planning.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

• CAD Systems:
  • Develop complete building documentation (multi-discipline).
  • Conduct site verifications as needed.
  • Maintain/organize as-builts, CAD, and drawing libraries.
  • Upload documentation and applicable information into IFMS.
  • Create diagrammatic, egress, and evacuation plans.
  • Create and maintain building space utilization record documents.
  • Create and maintain inventory and database records of FF&E and multi-discipline facilities-related information.
  • Coordinate with CDC A-E staff and contractors.
  • Expert-level use of AutoCAD.
  • Support collection, organization, validation, and maintenance of facilities information needed for portfolio-level planning.
  • Support development of records and information used to evaluate building refreshes, FF&E requirements, space utilization, lifecycle considerations, and other future facilities needs.
  • Assist in maintaining facilities information that supports CDC's multi-year and five-year planning outlook.
• BIM/Revit Systems:
  • Applicable CAD Systems tasks above may also apply to BIM/Revit Systems depending upon work assignments.
  • Prepare and review Revit models/documents.
  • Support BIM Manager in protocols/standards.
  • Maintain BIM deliverables and conduct reviews.
  • Support team members with BIM/Revit issues.
  • Ensure workflow integration with other project stakeholders, including project managers, interiors, engineers, architects, and others, to facilitate seamless workflow integration.
  • Support integration of BIM information with IFMS and other facilities information resources as applicable.
  • Assist in developing BIM information capable of supporting lifecycle planning, portfolio analysis, space utilization, refresh strategies, and other forward-looking facilities decisions.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

• Knowledge of AutoCAD and CAD production standards, including preparation, modification, review, and maintenance of multi-discipline building drawings and facilities documentation.
• Able to use in-depth knowledge of architectural, engineering, interiors, FF&E, and facilities documentation practices, including site verification, as-built documentation, drawing libraries, to work independently and in coordination with A-E staff and contractors.
• Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit and BIM processes, including preparation and review of models/documents, standards compliance, deliverable maintenance, and coordination with project stakeholders.
• Knowledge of facilities information management practices, including maintaining space utilization records, FF&E inventories, facilities databases, and applicable information within IFMS or similar systems.
• Ability to create original engineering designs as needed.
• Ability to create architectural plans from engineering designs.
• Ability to organize, validate, and maintain facilities information used to support space planning, building refreshes, lifecycle considerations, portfolio analysis, and multi-year facilities planning.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three (3) years of relevant experience in CAD drafting/design, facilities documentation, architecture, engineering, construction, space planning, or a related field.
• Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD and demonstrated experience producing and maintaining building drawings and related facilities documentation.
• Experience conducting site verification, maintaining as-built drawings or CAD libraries, and coordinating technical information with architects, engineers, contractors, or other stakeholders.
• Working knowledge of Revit/BIM, IFMS/IWMS/CAFM systems, or comparable facilities information tools.
• Equivalent combinations of education, technical training, certifications, and progressively responsible experience may be considered in lieu of post-secondary education.
• Prior experience with CDC.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Five (5) or more years of relevant CAD and facilities documentation experience.
• Experience developing multi-discipline building documentation and maintaining as-built, CAD, or drawing libraries for multiple facilities.
• Intermediate proficiency with Autodesk Revit and experience supporting BIM standards, model/document reviews, and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Experience using IFMS, IWMS, CAFM, or similar systems to maintain space, FF&E, asset, or facilities information.
• Experience supporting space utilization, building refresh planning, FF&E planning, lifecycle analysis, or multi-year facilities planning.
