Job summary

Allfast Fastening Systems LLC in City of Industry, CA is seeking a Mechanical/Drafting professional to prepare clear, complete working plans and detail drawings from rough or detailed sketches, using CAD software.

This on-site role requires blueprints reading, accuracy in dimensions, material specification, and ability to translate concepts into finished designs; compensation ranges from $24.00 to $35.00 per hour, with additional incentives as noted by the recruiting team.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to interpret sketches and convert them into precise working drawings.
• Experience with drafting standards and GD&T concepts is desirable.
• Proficient in blueprints, dimensions and material specification.

Responsibilities

• Prepares clear, complete and accurate working plans and detail drawings from rough or detailed sketches.
• Makes final sketch of proposed drawing, checking dimension or parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to the whole structure or project.
• Utilizes knowledge of machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.
• Makes adjustments or changes as necessary and inks in lines on drawings as required.
• Draws charts for representation of statistical data and finished designs from sketches.
• Uses CAD equipment and software.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepares clear, complete and accurate working plans and detail drawings from rough or detailed sketches.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities And Competencies

• Makes final sketch of proposed drawing, checking dimension or parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to the whole structure or project.
• Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.
• Makes any adjustments or changes as necessary.
• Inks in lines and letters on pencil drawings as required.
• Draws charts for representation of statistical data.
• Draws finished designs from sketches.
• Uses computer assisted drafting (CAD) equipment and software.

Qualifications

OTHER COMPETENCIES:

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Abilities

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Blueprint Reading

Ability to read and understand blueprints.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Design software and Word Processing software.

Education And/or Experience

A Mechanical/Drafting Associate Technical Degree. One year college or technical school and three (3) years experience/and or training in detailed assembly and diagram drawings; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and depth perception.

Compensation

In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the expected pay range for this position is $24.00-$35.00.

Compensation can vary depending on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses.
