Job summary

The Hiller Companies is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Designer to create detailed sprinkler system designs using CAD and AutoSPRINK. You will read construction documents, perform hydraulic calculations, and coordinate with architects, contractors, and AHJs to ensure code-compliant layouts.

Ideal candidates will interpret NFPA standards for various building types and collaborate with the project team to optimize material lists and workflow while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specs, and contracts.
• Knowledge of NFPA standards relevant to sprinkler design.
• Strong communication with AHJs, contractors and trades.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed designs of fire sprinkler systems using CAD/AutoSPRINK software.
• Coordinate sprinkler system piping with other building components.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and visualize 3D concepts.
• Read and interpret construction documents, drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Apply NFPA standards based on building type and hazard classifications.
• Communicate with AHJs, contractors and trades.
• Coordinate with team for materials, permitting and inspections.
• Participate in predesign and review meetings.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and quality improvements.
