Job summary

Apple is seeking engineers to work with design teams on silicon experiments, analyze results and refine design methodologies across all silicon design at Apple.

You will perform data mining to establish correlation metrics for design closure activities including Static Timing Analysis, and help optimize power/performance tradeoffs with material impact on final products.

Qualifications

  • BS degree required with 10+ years of industry experience.
  • Experience in STA, DFT, physical design, CAD or related areas.
  • Coding in C, Perl, Python or Tcl and scripting skills.
  • Foundations in statistics, DOE, data mining and ML concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Design experiments with design teams across silicon projects.
  • Analyze results and refine design methodologies for silicon design.
  • Conduct data mining to establish correlation metrics for design closure.
  • Develop closure margins and methodologies to optimize power/performance.

Job description

Description

Work with design teams, DFT, CAD, and product engineering to design experiments, analyze results and refine design methodologies applied across all silicon design at Apple.

Data mining and analysis of silicon data to establish correlation metrics to design closure activities including Static Timing Analysis.

  • Develop and deploy design closure margins and methodologies targeted to optimize power/performance tradeoffs which have material impact on the final products
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in static timing analysis, DFT, physical design, failure analysis or CAD
  • Static Timing Analysis with Primetime, Tempus, or equivalent
  • Solid C, Perl, Python or Tcl coding/debug skills coupled with an understanding of the design challenges in advanced technology nodes
  • Fundamentals of statistics, hypothesis testing, data mining, Machine Learning and Design of Experiments.
  • Prior exposure to DFT, Tetramax, Tessent, silicon debug, or semiconductor processing is a plus.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum requirement of BS + 10 years of relevant industry experience
  • Coding experience in one or more of C, Perl, Python, or Tcl
Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $184,700 and $324,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
