Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a CAD Engineer focused on compute and design infrastructure to enable the CAS team’s high-performance silicon development. The role emphasizes building robust compute environments, managing EDA tool licenses, and supporting large-scale simulations.

Candidate will collaborate with IT and hardware teams to optimize on-premise and cloud-based workflows, ensuring secure, scalable, and efficient infrastructure for advanced ASIC design activities.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 10+ years in CAD/EDA infra or semiconductor design environments.
• Experience managing compute infra for ASIC/semiconductor teams.
• Familiarity with EDA license server management (FlexLM/FlexNet).

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain compute infrastructure supporting CAS design and verification activities.
• Configure and manage EDA tool environments and license servers for the CAS team.
• Support HPC clusters and storage for large-scale simulation and verification workloads.
• Implement CI systems for design validation within the CAS flow.
• Monitor compute resource utilization and provide capacity planning recommendations.
• Manage EDA tool access, licensing, and version control across the CAS team.
• Collaborate with IT to optimize on-premise and cloud design environments.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues impacting design team productivity.
• Develop and document best practices and SOPs for the CAS organization.
