Job summary

OTC Industrial in Wisconsin is seeking an Engineer Drafter to create detailed drawings, BOMs, and schematics for turnkey pump packages using CAD software. You will collaborate with engineers, shop staff, customers, and suppliers to ensure accuracy and adherence to standards.

The role emphasizes precise drafting, attention to detail, and timely project support from design through fabrication, with emphasis on quality control and documentation.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Drafting, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor preferred).
• Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Develop original design, detailed technical drawings and schematics based on customer P&ID and specifications.
• Utilize Autodesk Inventor & AutoCAD to create P&ID, 2D drawings, and 3D models.
• Create internal fabrication drawings with proper instructions to build equipment packages.
• Revise and update existing drawings to reflect design changes from customer submittal document comments or internal design reviews.
• Collaborate with engineers, shop personnel, and project managers to meet customer design requirements.
• Interpret rough sketches, notes, and verbal instructions to produce precise technical drawings suitable for fabrication.
• Maintain documentation and version control for all drafted plans.
• Conduct quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of designs.
• Work with engineering team to prioritize project deadlines.
• Assist in estimating material costs and project timelines when necessary.
• Provide design support for shop personnel throughout the build process.
