Job summary

ManpowerGroup is seeking a CAD Drafting Engineer (Steel Shop Drawings) for a 2-3 month onsite contract in Kiowa, CO. You will create steel shop drawings, develop 2D/3D models, and prepare fabrication packages for miscellaneous metals, hoses, beams and more.

The role requires 7+ years CAD drafting in steel fabrication, proficiency with AutoCAD, Fusion 360, and Bluebeam, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Create, revise, and maintain detailing drawings for miscellaneous metals and fabrication components.

• Generate fabrication packages with weld details, BOMs, and production docs.
• Interpret structural and fabrication drawings to meet specs and quality standards.
• Collaborate with engineering, PM, fabrication to support schedules.

Our client, a steel fabrication and structural manufacturing company supporting government-related projects, is seeking a CAD Drafting Engineer (Steel Shop Drawings) to join their team. As a CAD Drafting Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering and Design Department supporting the Engineering, Project Management, Fabrication, and Production Teams. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently, which will align successfully within the organization.

Location: Kiowa, CO

Contract: 2-3 Month Contract (Potential Extension)

Pay Range: $40.00 - $50.00/hour

What's the Job?

• Create, revise, and maintain detailed steel shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and assembly drawings for miscellaneous metals, hose racks, beams, and other fabricated steel components.
• Develop accurate 2D and 3D models using AutoCAD, Fusion 360, and related drafting software.
• Generate fabrication packages including weld details, dimensions, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and production documentation.
• Interpret structural, engineering, and fabrication drawings while ensuring compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
• Collaborate with engineering, project management, and fabrication teams to support manufacturing activities and maintain project schedules.

• Minimum 7+ years of CAD drafting experience, preferably within steel fabrication, structural steel, or miscellaneous metals environments.
• Strong proficiency with AutoCAD, Fusion 360, and Bluebeam.
