Job summary

Capacity/Laymor in Longview, TX, is seeking a detail-oriented CAD Drafter to produce detailed design drawings and schematics from specifications and layouts. You will use CAD/CAE tools to create and modify drawings, consult with engineers, and support project delivery.

The ideal candidate has an Associate's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology and typically 4–7 years of related experience. You will collaborate across teams on production assemblies, review data, and ensure accuracy and

Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and layouts.

Responsibilities

Develop detailed design drawings and specifications from markups and verbal instructions using CAD.
Collaborate with engineers or designers to complete projects and resolve design issues.
Review specifications and data to assess factors affecting component designs and procedures.
Modify and revise designs to correct deficiencies or reduce production problems.
Check dimensions and ensure proper fit and function.
Lay out and draw schematic, orthographic, or angle views to depict components and assemblies.
Maintain CAD standards and library of production drawings and bills of materials.
