Job summary

JWC Machine and Fab in Mobile, AL is seeking a CAD expert to translate customer sketches into precise 2D drawings and 3D models. You will embed GD&T, select materials, and drive first-pass manufacturability from start to finish.

You'll work closely with machinists and shop leadership, maintain drawing libraries, support quoting, and draft work instructions. Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360, or NX CAD is required.

Qualifications

• Produce and update 2D drawings and/or 3D models from customer specs, sketches, or verbal direction.
• Embed GD&T, tolerances, materials, and finishes to drive first-pass success.
• Evaluate drawings for manufacturability and call out risks before production begins.
• Maintain organized drawing libraries and revision control per shop standards.
• Collaborate with machinists and leadership to resolve interpretation questions.
• Support quoting by interpreting drawings and breaking down critical dimensions.
• Draft process documentation, work instructions, and job travelers as needed.
