Job summary

Mission Critical Group (MCG) seeks a CAD Designer to develop accurate sheet metal panels, structural supports, barriers, and copper bus assemblies for low- to medium-voltage switchgear. You will ensure designs meet customer specs and regulatory standards while collaborating with engineers, project managers, and manufacturing teams.

Responsibilities include creating 3D models in Inventor, preparing BOMs, and supporting manufacturing with clear drawings.

Qualifications

1–2 years in mechanical design, with electrical or switchgear exposure.
Proficient in sheet metal and structural component design.
Experience producing BOMs and assembly drawings for manufacturing.
Familiarity with manufacturing processes like machining and press brake.

Responsibilities

Create detailed 3D models and drawings of sheet metal panels, supports, barriers, and bus assemblies using CAD software (Inventor).
Ensure designs meet manufacturability, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with electrical designers to integrate structural and copper bus elements into drawings.
Support project execution with cross-functional teams and prepare BOMs and cut sheets.
Contribute to design reviews and cost/quality improvements.
Provide guidance to junior designers and mentor peers.
