Job summary

G-III Apparel Group in New York City is seeking a CAD Designer to join the Jessica Howard Design team. You will develop prints, patterns, graphics, and artwork for seasonal collections, ensuring brand aesthetics and quality.

Collaborate with Design, Production, and mills to translate creative direction into production-ready artwork and maintain consistency across high-SKU ranges.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of CAD design experience within women’s fashion.
• Strong background in textile design, print development, and apparel graphics.
• Proficient in Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Experience developing production-ready artwork and working with mills/vendors.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.

Position Summary

G-III Apparel Group is currently seeking a CAD Designer to join the Jessica Howard Design team based in New York City.

The CAD Designer will support the development of original prints, patterns, graphics, and artwork across seasonal collections. This role will partner closely with Design, Production, and external vendors to translate creative direction into production-ready artwork while maintaining the Jessica Howard brand aesthetic, commercial direction, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the Design team to create and develop original prints, patterns, graphics, and artwork for seasonal collections.
• Translate creative concepts into production-ready CAD artwork and technical layouts.
• Create and recolor prints to support seasonal color palettes and assortment needs.
• Develop multiple colorways, scales, repeats, and print variations.
• Create cost-effective print layouts suitable for bulk production.
• Support seasonal color direction and print strategy alongside the Design team.
• Prepare artwork files and specifications for mills and vendors.
• Communicate with mills to support the timely development of strike-offs and sample yardage.
• Review strike-offs, artwork submissions, and print samples for color, scale, layout, and accuracy.
• Review and adapt artwork from external studios as needed.
• Manage purchased artwork assets.
• Partner with Production and external vendors to ensure accurate execution of artwork through production.
• Maintain and organize the art library and digital asset files.
• Support copyright tracking and maintain artwork documentation.
• Assist with the creation of sales tools, presentations, and visual assets for market appointments as needed.
• Support adherence to seasonal development calendars and deadlines.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Design, Production, Merchandising, and other partners throughout the product development process.
• Manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Who You Are

• Highly creative with a strong eye for color, pattern, scale, and composition.
• Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Commercially minded with an understanding of print and color direction within women’s apparel.
• Comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
• Able to work effectively in a fast-paced fashion environment with shifting priorities and deadlines.
• Strong communicator with the ability to partner effectively with internal teams, mills, and vendors.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7+ years of CAD design experience within women’s fashion.
• Strong background in textile design, print development, and apparel graphics.
• Experience within women’s dresses and/or sportswear preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Strong understanding of textile printing techniques, mill processes, and production workflows.
• Experience developing production-ready artwork and working directly with mills and vendors.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience working within a high-SKU volume environment preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, Graphic Design, or a related field preferred.

Compensation

The pay for this position is $100,000 per year.

• This compensation reflects G-III Apparel Group’s good-faith assessment of the salary for this position at the time of posting and is provided in accordance with the New York City Salary Transparency Law. Final compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
