Job summary

RBC Bearings in Simpsonville, SC seeks a CAD Designer Intern to create models and drawings for existing parts using SolidWorks, with revision control and data management.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Create new models and drawings of existing part-drawings using CAD software.
• Ensure models and drawings are revision controlled and loaded into data management systems.
• Read technical drawings and translate into accurate CAD representations.
• Collaborate with drafting and design teams to update parts for manufacturing.
• Support engineering with material and tolerance information as needed.

Job Function: CAD Design | Drafting

Job Summary: The function of this role is to create new models and drawings of existing part-drawings using SolidWorks. Models and Drawings will be revision controlled and loaded into file Data Management systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Experience using SolidWorks modeling and detailing design software.
• Ability to read technical drawings and create models and drawings of existing parts.
• Understanding of casting and machining parts.
• Familiar with Geometrical Tolerancing and dimensioning.
• Attention to detail with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft tools and an understanding of file data management / file revision control.

Required Qualifications

• Must be actively pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in MET, Engineering Graphics or similar major.
