Job summary

Ascentec Engineering is seeking a CAD Designer II to advance independent design ownership. The role emphasizes drawing production, customer interaction, and moderate design problem solving at our Tualatin, OR headquarters.

The position requires AutoCAD expertise, basic SolidWorks skills, and the ability to manage multi-part assemblies. Onsite work and ITAR considerations apply, with a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in AutoCAD required.
• Basic SolidWorks skills to create simple parts and basic assemblies.
• Ability to design simple to moderately complex multi-part assemblies.
• Understanding of PCB data.
• Ability to perform simple manufacturability checks and review basic print quality.
• Strong computer and file-system proficiency.
• 1–3 years CAD or mechanical design experience, or equivalent education.

Responsibilities

• Independently produce drawings and models for simple to moderately complex fixtures.
• Interpret engineering notes and communicate with internal teams.
• Provide Production support and resolve minor design issues.
• Participate in internal design reviews.
• Assist with training interns and Designer I team members.
• Maintain CAD libraries and ensure adherence to design standards.
• Organize, manage, and update design files per established processes.
• Communicate with customers for drawing approvals and clarifications.
