Job summary

Subcritical Systems in Austin, TX seeks a creative CAD Designer for a full-time, on-site role. You will develop designs for subcritical assembly and particle accelerator components, collaborating with engineering and scientific teams to shape the world's first accelerator-driven system for power generation.

The ideal candidate will contribute 3D CAD modeling, detailed drawings, and documentation, enabling fabrication and assembly within a fast-paced startup environment.

Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Mechanical Design, Drafting, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience supporting mechanical engineering projects.
• Proficiency with NX, SolidWorks, Solid Edge, or Pro-E.
• Experience applying GD&T per ASME Y14.5 and DFMA/ DFA.
• Familiarity with machining and metalworking processes.

Responsibilities

• Design Energy Amplifier components and systems in 3D CAD.
• Create drawings, BOMs, and documentation for fabrication.
• Apply GD&T and DFMA to ensure manufacturability.
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and vendors.
• Translate design intent into manufacturable drawings.
