Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Technician/CAD Designer to join our Land Development team.

You will assist with drafting tasks and modify/create CAD drawings under the direction of a designer or engineer. Responsibilities include reviewing project scope with the project engineer, preparing design documents, and collaborating with engineers and managers through all drafting stages.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience and knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Design skills and knowledge.
• 1-5 Years of industry specific Land Development experience.

Responsibilities

• Reviews project scope and confers with project engineer concerning tasks required such as plan preparation, evaluation of field conditions, design requirements, and/or reports
• Uses computer equipment including engineering and design modeling software to prepare engineering and design documents
• Support and communicate with engineers, project managers and other supervisors throughout all stages of the drafting, design and construction process
• Create, edit, and modify CAD drawings
• Apply Westwood Company CAD standard, practices, and procedures in creating and modifying CAD drawings
• Collaborate in a team environment
• Coordinate filing, storage, and retrieval of drawings and documents
• Plot and check drawings
• Willing to take on other duties as assigned
• Performs basic design tasks
