Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Technician/CAD Designer to join our Land Development team. The role focuses on CAD drafting, design plan creation, and document preparation under supervision.

Responsibilities include creating and editing CAD drawings in AutoCAD, reviewing project scope with engineers, coordinating with project managers, and ensuring adherence to CAD standards. A 1-5 year land development background is preferred; associate degree or equivalent

Qualifications

• Reviews project scope and confers with project engineer concerning tasks required such as plan preparation, evaluation of field conditions, design requirements, and/or reports
• Uses computer equipment including engineering and design modeling software to prepare engineering and design documents
• Support and communicate with engineers, project managers and other supervisors throughout all stages of the drafting, design and construction process
• Create, edit, and modify CAD drawings
• Apply Westwood Company CAD standard, practices, and procedures in creating and modifying CAD drawings
• Collaborate in a team environment
• Coordinate filing, storage, and retrieval of drawings and documents
• Plot and check drawings
• Willing to take on other duties as assigned
• Performs basic design tasks

Responsibilities

• Prepare and modify design plans and CAD drawings using CAD software under supervision
• Create and edit CAD drawings and ensure adherence to CAD standards
• Coordinate with engineers and project managers through all drafting and design stages
• Plot, check, and file drawings and documents
• Assist with basic design tasks and project documentation
