Job summary

Drake & Company in Madison, WI is seeking a CAD Designer to join our growing team. This direct-hire position offers standard hours Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and benefits.

Responsibilities include modeling, creating drawings, and supporting product development. Proficiency with AutoCAD and SketchUp, plus experience with SolidWorks or Inventor, is preferred.

Educational requirements include an associate degree in engineering or CAD, with at least two years of design experience.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in engineering, industrial design, CAD or related.
• Two years’ experience with materials selection, manufacturing processes, statics/dynamics and CAD.
• Proficiency with CAD standards and software (AutoCAD and SketchUp); experience with Fusion or SolidWorks or Inventor preferred; proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Modeling: identify materials, components, structure and manufacturing options; prepare layouts, sketches, and assemblies; develop 3D prototypes.
• Create floor plan layouts and detail drawings for new or improved products and tooling.
• Support product/prototype discussions; assess design alternatives and resolve issues.
• Convert and set up files for production and review by vendors/customers.
• Organize and maintain art and support files for easy retrieval.
