Position Overview

VSL Civil is currently recruiting for a CAD Technician to join our team. As a CAD Technician, you will be accountable for preparing complex drawings of structures and equipment systems.

This role can be seated at any of our current branch locations which includes the following:

• Manassas, VA
• Fort Worth, TX

Responsibilities

• Drafting project and mechanical system drawings derived from layouts and sketches
• Establishing and following technical specifications to prepare drawings and draft designs
• Consulting with engineers regarding model accuracy and coordinating with shop team for material deliveries to job‑sites
• Determining material needs, performing necessary calculations, and tracking all material quantities

Qualifications

• 3-7 years experience with AutoCAD, preferably structural concrete drawings
• Demonstrated ability to read and understand structural drawings
• Strong communication skills, able to correspond well with Engineers and Clients
• Able to work in a fast paced, ever changing environment
• Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD Mechanical, Inventor, SolidWorks, BIM/Revit, and MS Office Suite may be given preference
• Travel nationally 5-10%

Compensation

We anticipate pay for this role between $28-$28/hour based off education, experience, and location.
