Position Summary

VSL Civil is recruiting for a CAD Technician to join our team. This role can be stationed at any of our current branch locations, which include: Manassas, VA; Fort Worth, TX.

Responsibilities

• Draft project and mechanical system drawings derived from layouts and sketches.
• Establish and follow technical specifications to prepare drawings and draft designs.
• Consult with engineers regarding model accuracy and coordinate with the shop team for material deliveries to job sites.
• Determine material needs, perform necessary calculations, and track all material quantities.

Qualifications

• 3-7 years experience with AutoCAD, preferably structural concrete drawings.
• Demonstrated ability to read and understand structural drawings.
• Strong communication skills, able to correspond well with engineers and clients.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment.
• Proficiency with Autodesk AutoCAD Mechanical, Inventor, SolidWorks, BIM/Revit, and MS Office Suite (preferred).

Travel

National travel: 5–10%.

Compensation

Pay between $28-28/hour based on education, experience, and location.
