Job summary

SUMMIT DESIGN AND ENGINEERING SERVICES, INC. is seeking a Survey Drafting Technician to support field and office teams in Asheville, NC.

You will draw surveys, plats, topographic maps, and worksheets using AutoCAD Civil 3D and Deed Reader Pro, create surfaces and point files, and perform property research with GIS. Applicants should have at least 2 years of survey drafting experience or an AA degree, knowledge of CAD standards, and strong communication skills to collaborate effectively in a team

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years Survey Drafting experience or an Associate's degree or equivalent.
• Familiarity with CAD standards and surveying terminology.
• Strong written and verbal communication, ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Draw surveys, plats, topographic maps and worksheets.
• Create surfaces and points for projects.
• Research rights-of-way, easements, and deeds from sources like the Register of Deeds.
• Draw as-builts and compare to plans; determine buffers and setbacks.
• Create paperspace layouts as needed.
