Job summary

Horsepower Automotive Group is seeking a CAD Designer Lead for our Chandler, AZ facility. You will own the CAD design process for premium aftermarket components, focusing on aesthetics and manufacturability. You’ll collaborate with a prototype team to move designs from screen to physical prototypes.

The role emphasizes hands-on design, complex sheet metal/tubular assemblies, and translating ideas into durable, manufacturable parts. Excellent English communication required.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience designing automotive or aerospace products.
• Strong SolidWorks skills with ability to design sheet metal and tubular parts.
• Experience with tooling and fixtures; translate 3D models into physical parts.
• Working knowledge of machining processes for final parts.
• Experience collaborating with engineering teams and producing accurate drawings.
• Creative mindset with discipline to translate ideas into manufacturable assemblies.
• Self-motivated and able to adapt in a fast-paced shop.
• Fluent English communication.

Responsibilities

• Create CAD models in SolidWorks daily from templates or designs.
• Build complex 3D sheet metal and tubular assemblies for manufacturing.
• Process 3D scans and create scanned mesh models to drive product development.
• Collaborate with prototype engineering to move products into production.
• Incorporate revision instructions and update parts accordingly.
