Job summary

MAHLE Thermal and Filter Systems US in Troy, MI is seeking a CAD designer to support the design and release of automotive engine components. You will work with NX and CATIA to design intake manifolds, air intake systems, and related plastics components, and you will interact with PLM systems such as Windchill, Teamcenter, and 3D Experience.

Ideal candidates have CAD experience, knowledge of CATIA/NX, and a solid understanding of GD&T and automotive powertrain concepts.

Qualifications

• Experience with CAD software and a strong interest in product design and engineering.
• Working knowledge of CATIA and/or NX design software.
• Understanding of automotive powertrain systems and component functionality.
• Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles and practices.
• Exposure to Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems, such as Windchill, SAP, Teamcenter, or 3D Experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Self-motivated, organized, and results-driven, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and release of automotive engine components using NX and CATIA.
• Support CAD Coordinator and release drawings and GD&T on part drawings.
• Work with Windchill, Teamcenter, and 3D Experience PLM systems.
• Assist with file transfers and PLM data management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design integrity and timely delivery.

Your Contribution

• Support computer aided design activities for the Design Department in North America relating to the design and release of automotive engine components.
• This position supports the CAD Coordinator.
• Support the activities of the CAD Coordinator.
• Work with CAD software NX and Catia to design automotive engine products, including intake manifolds, air intake systems, cylinder head covers, canisters, particularly related to plastics design.
• Assist with file transfers.
• Work with the MAHLE PLM system: Windchill.
• Work with customer PLM systems such as Team Center, 3D Experience.
• Assist with the release of drawings, drawing layout, GD&T on part drawings.

Your Experience & Qualifications

• Experience with CAD software and a strong interest in product design and engineering.
• Working knowledge of CATIA and/or NX design software.
• Understanding of automotive powertrain systems and component functionality.
• Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles and practices.
