Job Title: CAD Design Engineer - Aerospace Industry - USC only

Location: Remote

Primary Responsibilities

1. Generate and update 2D mechanical drawings using CATIA V5
2. Develop detailed 3D models using CATIA V5 CAD software
3. Create and drive closure to Engineering Change requests using ENOVIA PLM software
4. Perform engineering design analyses such as tolerance stacks and hand calculations to evaluate fit, form, and function, balancing manufacturing and cost constraints
5. Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues during development or production
6. Leverage GD&T skills to ensure proper fit, form, and function of hardware
7. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility and resolve manufacturing issues
8. Act as the customer point of contact during project updates and technical discussions
9. Document design findings using customer-defined templates
10. Contribute to process improvements to enhance design quality
11. Update status reports, present project status to customers, and coordinate with project management for effective communication
12. Understand and comply with export control regulations

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
• 5+ years of CATIA V5 CAD experience in aerospace
• Experience working with ENOVIA
• Proficiency in 2D drafting & GD&T standards
• Excellent communication and technical writing skills
• Must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of engineering outsourcing practices
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes including plastics
• Experience with project or program management
• Experience in process documentation and lessons learned
