Job summary

Colonial Group seeks a design professional to create detailed designs and drawings from order forms, client selections, or information developed by the design manager. You will develop and complete design details from original concepts and prepare layouts, coordinating with clients and technical staff.

You will ensure stability, deflection and load requirements meet codes, follow quality control procedures, and document material properties.

Qualifications

Associate degree or equivalent required, two-year college or technical school.
Experience with CAD software and technical drawing preferred.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with sales and customers to complete structures safely and accurately.
Ensure stability, deflection, and load requirements meet codes.
Follow quality control for design standards and code compliance.
Prepare design modifications after client or internal reviews.
Develop and complete designs from concept drawings.
Create rough sketches or coordinate finished drawings.
Document material properties and specifications.
Review designs for efficient use of inventory and labor.
Support continuous improvement initiatives.
Perform other duties as assigned.
