Job summary

Chugach Government Solutions, LLC seeks a Drafting Lead for the Stennis Space Center, MS location to supervise drafting tasks, mentor drafters, and ensure model quality and standards compliance.

You will manage workload, perform peer reviews, and coordinate with CAD/CREO coordinators to implement MBE practices and site drawings (SORD/SPAN). Strong CAD skills and US citizenship required.

Qualifications

• Two years of drafting or engineering training plus six years related experience.
• At least 1 year of 3D modeling experience in CREO.
• Five years of AutoCAD experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen to obtain NASA badge.
• Must communicate effectively in English (verbal and written).
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.
• Professional appearance and timely, quality work.
• Experience with drafting software in multiple disciplines (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Architectural).
• Knowledge of drafting principles including geometry, lettering, dimensioning, and layout.
• Ability to work well in a team or independently.
• Proficient in Windchill and related systems.
• Prior experience at Stennis Space Center, MS is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Track, monitor, and forecast workload of CAD/CREO drafters/designers/modelers.
• Retrieve documents such as record drawings.
• Provide drawing and model peer review and final checking.
• Assist engineering supervisor with assigning drafters, designers, and modelers to projects.
• Assist with task assignments to drafters, designers, and modelers.
• Stay informed on MBE best practices.
• Meet regularly with CAD/CREO coordinators.
• Maintain CAD standards and drafting templates.
• Update SSC standards and NSS procedures for drafting and modeling.
• Develop resources for 2D/3D drafting best practices.
• Support training programs and staff with regular sessions.
• Create, modify, and maintain site drawings and models (SORD, SPAN).
• Prepare detailed models and drawings during design for construction.
• Update models for field changes during construction.
• Update as-built models and drawings after construction.
• Field verification and dimensioning for accuracy.
