JPJ Staffing is seeking a CAD/BIM Manager in Sarasota, FL to lead the AutoCAD/REVIT drawing efforts, coordinate timelines and budgets, and enforce drafting standards across projects. You will oversee CAD staff, interface with Project Engineers and Managers, and coordinate with external vendors to deliver accurate design documents.

Requirements include 7–10 years AutoCAD/REVIT experience and 2–5 years of management.

Job Summary:

The position of CAD/BIM Manager entails working with Project Engineers and Project Managers to prepare engineering drawings, generate design documents from sketches and/or marked-up drawings through the use of AutoCAD, REVIT or any other applicable software for projects assigned. CAD/BIMManager will also schedule and coordinate work, oversee CAD/REVIT staff in regards to timelines and budgets, establish and enforce AutoCAD/REVIT standards based on national standards, coordinate work with outsource vendors, review shop submittals and RFI’s.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • 1. Develop detailed AutoCAD/REVIT drawings from sketches, notes, and other input materials.
  • 2. Develop and maintain project drawing files and library.
  • 3. Complete assignments on time as scheduled.
  • 4. Prepare engineering drawings
  • 5. Schedule, coordinate and oversee all work for the AutoCAD/BIM department
  • 6. Take ownership of every project assigned
  • 7. Be responsible for all content of the drawing and file tree
  • 8. Check and back check all work before presenting to the Project Engineer/Manager
  • 9. Anticipate additional work required and take initiative to get it done without waiting for Engineer mark-ups or direction.
  • 10. Anticipate what will be needed for drawing set including general notes, typical details, schedules, etc. and populate plans without direction.
  • 11. Cut and rough out sections that will be necessary without direction
  • 12. Day-to-day oversight of CAD staff
  • 13. Provide technical training to less experienced CAD staff
  • 14. Oversee project budgets to ensure CAD/BIM staff is staying on track
  • 15. Effectively communicate with Project Engineers, Project Managers, Engineering Manager and HR as needed in relation to CAD/BIM staff
  • 16. Establish and enforce AutoCAD/REVIT standards
  • 17. Coordinate and oversee work with outside vendors
  • 18. Review shop drawings and RFI’s
  • 19. Maintain positive relationships with clients
  • 20. Implement and maintain KEG standards for completion of projects
  • 21. Identify and prioritize tasks necessary to complete projects
  • 22. Perform tasks or delegate tasks to suitable employees so that they are completed at required intervals and according to KEG quality standards
  • 23. Verify that tasks have been completed at required times
  • 24. Work with Engineering Manager and Controller as requested to review billing and make changes as needed prior to distribution to clients
  • 25. Report status of projects to Project Engineers, Project Managers, Engineering Manager
  • 26. Track and report budgeted time versus time expended
  • 27. Allocate work to staff based on employee skills and balanced work loads
  • 28. Monitor employee effectiveness and productivity based on billable time in each period
