DBR Engineering Consultants, Inc. seeks talented engineers and designers to support growth and deliver quality designs. You will provide design assistance on projects and collaborate with BIM staff to produce quality drawings on schedule.

Responsibilities include applying design standards, preparing schematics and drawings, evaluating equipment, and supporting the team from concept through construction documents. A strong teamwork and learning mindset is essential.

Formación

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Architectural Engineering or an equivalent combination.
• Technical/Associate Degree with 1 year of related experience or High School Diploma with 2 years.
• Experience with Revit and AutoCAD drafting is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Learn and apply DBR design standards per design manual and PAL direction.
• Provide schematic design information to Project Manager or Mentor, including preliminary calculations and equipment sizing.
• Make calculations using engineering formulas and software for design and review with mentor.
• Research equipment based on mentor recommendations and fill out schedules.
• Prepare drawings and sketches for final drawings.
• Incorporate design concepts from schematic design into design development and construction documents.
• Organize and maintain project files and ensure orderly work area.
• Meet deadlines and work with clients and team effectively.

We’re looking for talented engineers and designers to help us grow.

Provide design assistance on selected projects and work with other designers and BIM design staff to deliver a quality product on schedule.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Learn and apply DBR design standards per appropriate design manual and as directed by the Practice Area Leader (PAL).
• Provide schematic design information to Project Manager or Technical/Training Mentor such as preliminary calculations, design distribution, equipment sizing, and providing cut sheets of all equipment proposed.
• Make calculations using engineering formulas and software for design. Responsible for reviewing all calculations with Technical/Training Mentor.
• Research and select equipment based on Technical/Training Mentor recommendations and fill out schedules.
• Prepare drawings and sketches to incorporate into final drawings.
• Research design options as directed by Project Manager or Technical/Training Mentor. Document and share that research.
• Research code issues.
• Assure that drawings and designs are in accordance with company production and design standards.
• Keep Project Manager or Technical/Training Mentor informed of workload.
• Prepare preliminary task list.
• Edit specifications.
• Incorporate design concepts from schematic design into design development and work with project team to produce construction documents.
• Organize and maintain project files. Maintain neat and organized work area, which allows efficient
  access to information required by other team members.
• Solve engineering problems using experience, judgment and education but is expected to ask for assistance when needed.
• Continue learning process by attending seminars and continuing education opportunities.
• Perform additional assignments as requested/needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Architectural Engineering or
• Technical/Associate Degree with 1 year of related work experience or
• High School Diploma/GED with 2 years of related work experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Basic industry knowledge in building construction and design is recommended.
• Revit and AutoCAD drafting experience and knowledge on reading construction drawings.
• Proficient use of computer for design and BIM drafting. Use of computer programs for engineering analysis and equipment selection.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Outlook, Word) or related software.
• Proficient in using office equipment (e.g., computer, copier, etc.).
• Excellent research and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Dependable and punctual.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain flexibility with workload and project schedules.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to effectively meet deadlines.
