Job summary

Evolve Engineering and Software in Longmont, CO is hiring a CAD/CAM Programmer to join a fast-growing team. You will leverage SolidWorks for part modelling, run CAM programs with SolidCAM (or Mastercam), and provide run sheets to operators to ensure precise, low-waste parts.

Candidates should bring at least three years of SolidWorks modelling experience, CAM programming skills, and a collaborative mindset to help optimize shop workflows.

Qualifications

• Three years or more modelling parts in SolidWorks.
• CAM programming – SolidCAM ideally, Mastercam is fine.
• Job scheduling experience.
• An open mind about a workflow that will be new to you.

Responsibilities

• Show real strength in SolidWorks
• Program parts from prints or models using SolidCAM
• Issue parts to machine operators as run sheets
• Design parts where a job needs it
• Communicate clearly, in writing and in person, so parts run smoothly
• Measure milled parts to check they are coming out as expected
• Watch machines running to confirm programmed rates hold up
• Aim at extremely precise parts with minimal waste

Evolve Engineering and Software is looking to hire a CAD and CAM Programmer. We are growing and moving quickly to hire people who fit. Our ideal candidate is an open-minded team player: a good attitude, an open mind about new ways of doing things, eagerness to learn, easy to work with, and willing to help out elsewhere in the shop.

Pay depends on experience: more experience, higher starting rate. Experience in mechanical or software engineering is a plus and is paid as such. When the shop is running well with minimal part waste we pay quarterly bonuses as well.
