Job summary

Trane Technologies in Grand Rapids is seeking a Designer II to create visually compelling 3D and 2D graphics for control projects. You will work under a Lead Digital Designer and collaborate with field offices to bring projects to life using SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, ProEngineer, CAD and AutoCAD.

The role requires at least 4+ years of CAD experience (in lieu of a degree) and the ability to lead small sections of large projects, documenting parts, BOMs, and design standards.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience using computer aided graphic solutions in lieu of degree or Associate’s Degree (AA)
• Experience in SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, or ProEngineer
• CAD, AutoCAD

Responsibilities

• Produces designs and documentation utilizing computer design and product life cycle management systems.
• Documentation of parts and bills of materials
• Develop a good working knowledge and familiarity of design and drafting standard practices, methods and processes
• Work from oral engineering instructions or written procedures, schematics, drawings and sketches.
• Lead small segments of large projects with responsibility for completion of assignments; exercise sound judgment in recognition of potential design problems.
• Maintains competency level of computer aided graphic system and other applications through company provided training and materials.
• Must be customer driven, innovative and quality minded in performance of all assigned duties.
• Develop and exercise good communication skills.
• Maintains awareness and adheres to all company safety and security policies and procedures.
• May be required to travel to various locations to support products or train other personnel.
• Receives generalized information and instruction pertaining to assignment from engineers or senior staff.
