Job summary

Raul Yzaguirre School for Success Charter in Aldine, TX is seeking a CACFP Food Service Assistant for the dinner program. The role supports the daily operation of the CACFP dinner service, helping prepare, serve, document, and clean up meals for after-school participants.

You will help ensure meals are served safely and in compliance with CACFP requirements, food safety standards, and school procedures. This part-time position offers a 10:30 AM–4:30 PM schedule, 195 days per year, with pay

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY

The CACFP Food Service Assistant supports the daily operation of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) dinner program. This position assists with preparing, serving, documenting, and cleaning up meals provided to students participating in after-school programming.

The Food Service Assistant helps ensure meals are served safely, efficiently, and in accordance with CACFP requirements, food safety standards, and organizational procedures.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Experience

• Previous food service, school nutrition, cafeteria, childcare, or related experience preferred.
• Experience working in a school or youth program setting is preferred but not required.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to maintain accurate meal counts and basic program documentation.
• Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices or willingness to learn.
