Job summary

TCI Technology Consulting Inc in Louisville, KY is seeking a Cabling Technician for a short-term contract. You will install, terminate, test, and maintain data and telecom cabling within buildings and facilities, working with copper and fiber optics along with supporting hardware.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience as a Cable Installer (ladder, scissor, and boom lift)
• Knowledge of RJ45 and fiber installation methods and termination techniques
• Proficient with copper and fiber optic cabling standards and testing methods
• Ability to use hand tools and cabling equipment safely
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Own basic hand tools and PPE (steel-toe boots, vest, safety glasses, gloves, hard hat)

Responsibilities

• Cable installation: pulling, routing, and securing cables according to blueprints and specifications
• Cable termination: crimping and terminating ends onto connectors with proper signal transmission
• Patch panel management: labeling and organizing cables in data centers or communication rooms
• Testing and troubleshooting: using cable testers to identify faults and fix issues
• Installation of cable support structures: mounting cable trays and ladder racks
• Documentation and reporting: keeping records of cable runs and configurations
