Job summary

Technology Plus in Louisville, KY is seeking a dependable Cabling Technician to join our team. This hands-on role focuses on installation, maintenance, and organization of low‑voltage cabling and related equipment at client locations, working with data, voice, security, and other technology solutions.

You'll collaborate with experienced teammates to complete installations safely and efficiently, following safety procedures and documentation requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with low-voltage cabling, construction, electrical work, installation, or related field is preferred but not required.
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools safely.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to travel to client sites as required.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position (standing, walking, bending, climbing ladders, lifting).

Responsibilities

• Cable installation: pull, route, secure and label low-voltage cabling (data/voice).
• Install cable pathways, racks, jacks, faceplates, and related equipment.
• Terminate and test cabling to ensure proper connectivity.
• Support cabling projects to meet project requirements and timelines.
• Troubleshoot basic cabling and connectivity issues.
• Maintain clean, organized and safe work areas; care for tools and equipment.
• Label cabling and equipment; maintain project documentation.
• Follow safety procedures and site requirements when using ladders/tools.
• Provide professional service at client locations.
• Participate in training to expand cabling skills.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dependable and motivated Cabling Technician who enjoys hands‑on work and working as part of a team.

As a Cabling Technician, you'll assist with the installation, maintenance, and organization of low‑voltage cabling and related equipment at client locations. This role involves working with structured cabling systems used for data, voice, security, and other technology solutions. You'll work alongside experienced team members to complete installations safely, accurately, and efficiently while providing professional service to our clients.

This is a full‑time, hourly position (Monday to Friday, generally 8 AM - 5 PM) based in Louisville, KY. Work locations will vary based on client and project needs and may include offices, warehouses, construction sites, and other commercial environments. Occasional outdoor work may also be required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cable Installation: Assist with pulling, routing, securing, labeling, and organizing low‑voltage cable, including data and voice cabling.
• Equipment Installation: Assist with installing cable pathways, racks, jacks, faceplates, and other related equipment.
• Termination and Testing: Assist with terminating and testing cabling to ensure proper installation and connectivity.
• Project Support: Work with team members to complete cabling projects according to project requirements and timelines.
• Troubleshooting: Assist with identifying and resolving basic cabling and connectivity issues.
• Job Site Organization: Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas and properly care for company tools and equipment.
• Documentation: Accurately label cabling and equipment and assist with maintaining project documentation as needed.
• Safety: Follow company safety procedures and job‑site requirements while using ladders, tools, and other equipment.
• Client Service: Maintain a professional and courteous presence when working at client locations.
• Training: Participate in training and development opportunities to expand cabling and installation skills.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience with low‑voltage cabling, construction, electrical work, installation, or a related field is preferred but not required.
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools safely.
