Source 1 Solutions is seeking a skilled Cable Technician to install and maintain Cat6 and coaxial cabling, route cables through walls and ceilings, and terminate connectors. You will also install low voltage equipment and structure supports while reading blueprints and work orders to guide installations.

The role emphasizes safe working practices, routine testing with cable testers and meters, and clear communication with customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Previous experience as a Cable Technician is often preferred.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., BICSI, CompTIA Network) are valued but not required.

Responsibilities

• Install and route Cat6 and coaxial cables through walls, ceilings, conduit, and pathways.
• Terminate cables using appropriate connectors (e.g., RJ45, F-connectors).
• Install and configure low voltage equipment such as modems, routers, cable boxes, and security cameras.
• Install support structures (racks, j-hooks, cable trays) for neat cabling.
• Read blueprints, diagrams, and work orders to guide installations.
• Inspect and diagnose cable systems; troubleshoot network issues to restore service.
• Maintain accurate installation, test, and inventory records.
