Job summary

Paycom is seeking a Cabling Technician to follow production plans and procedures, perform accurate logging and documentation, and operate cabling equipment with minimal supervision. The role requires basic math, comprehension of drawings, and a strong safety mindset.

You must be willing to lift up to 75 pounds and learn continuous improvement in a clean, safe environment. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work in a team.

Qualifications

  • Excellent spatial reasoning and ability to interpret layouts and specs.
  • Ability to follow work instructions and provide required documentation.
  • HS diploma or equivalent is acceptable for consideration.

Responsibilities

  • Follow production plans and procedures in controlling documents.
  • Setup and operate cabling equipment without supervision.
  • Log in/out of production jobs and complete related paperwork.
  • Select proper tooling and inspect with a pin gauge.
  • Meet material usage targets and run-rate for the process router.
  • Maintain center housekeeping and tooling crib integrity.
  • Contribute to safety and continuous improvement efforts.

Job description

We are looking for individuals who would like to work in a clean and safe environment and who either already have or would like to learn the following skills:Role:The role of the Cabling Technician is to follow the production plans and procedures found in the controlling documents, provide high level product workmanship, provide continuous improvement input, and provide support for planned and unplanned maintenance events and DOE’s, including actions to reduce hazardous conditions.Major Duties and Responsibilities:Perform basic math and computer skillsUnderstand and follow all work instructions pertaining to cabling to the highest degreeInterpret engineering specifications and drawings to proficiently setup and operate cabling equipment without supervisionAdjust machine settings to produce optimal productAccurately log in/out of production jobs, complete all related paperwork; reel tag, production report, inspection table, etc.Select proper tooling option according to need and inspect using a pin gaugeProperly install tooling and adjust for correct concentricityMeet the allocated material usage (including X% startup scrap), set-up time and run-rate of the process routerProperly use all calibrated equipment pertaining to cabling processDemonstrate proper work center housekeeping and tooling crib integrityExhibit a positive attitude and a desire to learnKnowledge and Skills:Experience: Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to multi-task is required. Excellent spatial perspective. Ability to follow instructions and provide necessary documentation.Education: High School Diploma or equivalent skills and abilitiesInterpersonal Skills:The ability to understand verbal, written or visual instruction. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to effectively communicate with their supervisor.Other Requirements:Can legally work in the United StatesDemonstrated ability in Minnesota Wire standard manufacturing processes.Display and efficiency in quality work processesEfficiency in reading and interpreting printsMust be able to lift 8 to 75 pounds based upon the individual assigned department.Ability to maintain work scheduleWillingness to learn new tasks and assignmentsPositive, can do attitudeMaintain and Improve Departmental Safety, Organization, and Cleanliness
