Job summary

Lake Cable in Valparaiso, IN is seeking an Electrical Tester to perform electrical tests on various cables using both AC and DC equipment. Night shift: Mon-Fri, 7:00 pm–7:00 am with Saturdays as needed.

Follow SOPs, determine correct voltage, complete paperwork, maintain safety, and collaborate with Re-spool to address faults and retest. High school diploma required; manufacturing experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma or GED or equivalent
• 1 year manufacturing experience preferred
• Knowledge of basic electrical test equipment is a plus

Responsibilities

• Locate reels needing to be tested following supervisor priorities
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow safety procedures
• Determine the correct voltage or test to apply for each cable
• Complete paperwork and documentation in computer systems
• Prepare cable ends for next process
• Address failures before moving to the next operation
• Escalate issues outside of authority when needed
