Job summary

GC Associates USA, LLC seeks a Cable Technician for a defined-term DoD project at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard, Honolulu. In-person, 0630–1430, Monday–Friday, through year end with possible extension.

You will install, maintain, and test copper, coaxial, and fiber cabling, lay cable pathways, and deploy RFID sensors. Responsibilities include wiring and testing, creating rack elevations, splicing optical fiber, and ensuring compliance with EIA/TIA, BICSI, NEC standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience with cabling systems and technical training or equivalent
  • Ability to install, configure, troubleshoot, and replace network infrastructure
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and schematics to resolve issues
  • Experience with RFID sensors and network components
  • Must maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs

Responsibilities

  • Install ducts, conduits, and cable pathways; pull, terminate, test, and repair copper, coaxial, and fiber cabling
  • Generate rack elevations, floor layouts, and connection-detail drawings
  • Perform fusion splicing, labeling, and testing of optical fiber
  • Install and test Cat5e/6 cabling
  • Install data-center infrastructure including racks, PDUs, and patch panels
  • Follow EIA/TIA, BICSI, and NEC standards in cabling work
  • Install RFID sensors and integrate with network infrastructure
  • Develop and follow documentation procedures

GC Associates is seeking a Cable Technician to support a defined-term project at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard (PHNSY).

Job Description

GC Associates is seeking a Cable Technician to support a defined-term project at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard (PHNSY). This position runs to the end of the year, with possibility of extension. Work will be performed under a subcontract in support of Department of Defense (DoD) infrastructure requirements. The schedule for this role is in-person, Monday-Friday, from 0630 to 1430. The Cable Technician will install, maintain, and repair cable infrastructure, including creating cable pathways, pulling cable, inspecting cable lines, laying ground cable, and terminating and testing Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optics as well as RFID sensors.

Responsibilities
  • Install ducts, conduits, and cable pathways; pull, terminate, test, and repair interior and exterior copper, coaxial, and fiber optic cabling.
  • Generate rack elevations, floor layouts, and connection-detail drawings for varied operational spaces.
  • Perform fusion splicing, labeling, and testing of optical fiber.
  • Install, terminate, label, and test shielded and unshielded copper cabling.
  • Install complete data-center infrastructure, including racks, PDUs, CAT6 cabling, single-mode and multi-mode fiber, patch panels, and required labeling.
  • Install Cat5e/6 structured cabling systems following EIA/TIA, BICSI, and NEC industry standards.
  • Pull, route, and label Cat6 and other network cable types.
  • Install support structures such as cable racks, j-hooks, and innerduct.
  • Install and configure RFID sensors, including mounting, wiring, integration with network infrastructure, and functional testing.
  • Develop clear documentation and adhere to established documentation procedures.
Qualifications
  • Experience with cabling systems, technical training, or a combination of education and applicable experience.
  • Ability to install, configure, troubleshoot, program, and replace network infrastructure.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools, service aids, and product schematics to resolve equipment and system issues.
  • Experience installing, integrating, or troubleshooting RFID sensors and associated network components.
  • Must maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50lbs.
Level Of Experience
  • Entry Level: 1-3 yrs
  • Journeymen: 3-4yrs
  • Expert (Senior): 5-10yrs
