Job summary

TEKsystems in Montgomery, AL is seeking a contract Cable Technician with fiber knowledge to install and troubleshoot structured cabling in data center environments.

You will layout, install, terminate and test cabling, mount racks and patch panels, and build closets with backboards and cross connects. This role requires indoor/outdoor work at client sites and may involve conduit installations and grounding tasks.

Qualifications

• Experience with network equipment.
• Fiber knowledge and fiber troubleshooting.
• Must be able to work inside and outside buildings in data centers.

Responsibilities

• Layout and install wireway, buss duct, cable tray, switches receptacles and other devices.
• Build closets (mount and install backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic and hardware).
• Install grounding for racks, equipment and cable as required.
• Complete all IDC connections (e.g. terminate 110/66 blocks and patch panels).
• Pulls wire and/or oversees and directs conduit installations and wire pulling.
• Operate tools/equipment, e.g. cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, jack hammers.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
