Job summary

Piper Companies in Red Oak, TX is seeking a Cable Technician for a large data center build. The position is fully on site with 12-hour day or night shifts, seven days a week, with project duration through February 2027 and potential extension.

Responsibilities include installing and testing low-voltage cable (fiber and copper), reading blueprints, installing telecom room components, testing cable with Fluke tools, and following safety requirements.

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years of cable installation, pulling, terminating and testing.
• Must provide PPE and safety equipment.
• OSHA 10 certification required or willing to obtain.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and crawl into tight spaces.
• Eligible to work in the United States.
• Team lead experience is a plus.

Job description

• Follow all safety requirements and regulations

Requirements for the Cable Technician:

• 1-2+ years of experience in installing, pulling, terminating, and testing cable
• Must have all required PPE and safety equipment
• Must have, or be willing to obtain, OSHA 10 certification
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, climb ladders, and crawl/bend/stretch into tight spaces
• Must be eligible to work in the United States for any employer
• Team lead experience is a plus

Compensation for the Cable Technician:

• Hourly rate: $20-25/hr **depending on experience**
• Benefits: Cigna medical/dental/vision, 401k, sick leave if required by law
