Insight Global is partnering with a rapidly growing data center infrastructure company to hire Cable Technicians with fiber optics and structured cabling experience. This role supports mission-critical data center buildouts and deployments, focusing on fiber optic installations, copper cabling, and network infrastructure support.

Qualifications

  • Able to read blueprints and installation drawings.
  • Comfortable working on ladders and in physically demanding environments.

Responsibilities

  • Install, route, dress, and secure fiber optic and copper cabling.
  • Build racks, cabinets, ladder rack, and cable containment.
  • Perform fiber terminations and basic testing.
  • Support fiber optic troubleshooting and network deployments.
  • Install patch panels and structured cabling systems.
  • Read project drawings and cable schedules.
  • Maintain installation documentation and labeling.
  • Collaborate with project teams to complete installations safely and on schedule.

Job description

Insight Global is partnering with a rapidly growing data center infrastructure company to hire Cable Technicians with fiber optics and structured cabling experience. This position will support mission‑critical data center buildouts and technology infrastructure deployments, focusing on fiber optic installations, copper cabling, rack buildouts, equipment deployments, and network infrastructure support.

The ideal candidate has previous experience in a data center, telecommunications, or commercial low‑voltage environment and understands structured cabling standards and installation best practices.

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
  • Install, route, dress, and secure fiber optic and copper cabling.
  • Build and install racks, cabinets, ladder rack, and cable containment systems.
  • Perform fiber terminations and basic testing activities.
  • Support fiber optic troubleshooting and network infrastructure deployments.
  • Install patch panels, MPO/MTP assemblies, LC connectors, and structured cabling systems.
  • Read and interpret project drawings, cable schedules, and floor plans.
  • Maintain installation documentation and labeling requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, foremen, and customer teams to complete installations safely and on schedule.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 1-3+ years of structured cabling, low‑voltage, telecommunications, fiber optic, or data center experience.
  • Experience pulling, routing, dressing, and labeling fiber and/or copper cabling.
  • Experience working in commercial construction or data center environments.
  • Familiarity with cable trays, ladder racks, cabinets, and rack installations.
  • Ability to read basic blueprints and installation drawings.
  • Comfortable working in physically demanding environments and on ladders/lifts.

This is a 6-month Contract‑to‑Hire Opportunity.
