Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a Cable Technician to support commercial technology infrastructure in the Red Oak, TX area. The position is fully onsite with a strong emphasis on safe, code-compliant cabling and infrastructure deployment.

Responsibilities include installing and testing network cabling, reading drawings, and coordinating with the team to ensure project success. The candidate should have 2+ years of related experience and be able to work on active job sites with PPE.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in low-voltage, structured cabling or related field environments.
• Hands-on experience with cabling installation and infrastructure deployment.
• Ability to interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and project docs.
• Strong troubleshooting abilities with mechanical/technical aptitude.
• Must provide and properly utilize required PPE.
• Exposure to telecom systems, electrical installations, or fiber optics is highly preferred.
• Able to lift/move equipment on active job sites.

Piper Companies is seeking a Cable Technician to support commercial technology infrastructure and cabling projects. This position is fully onsite in the Red Oak, TX area.

Responsibilities for the Cable Technician include:

• Participate in the installation and configuration of network and low-voltage infrastructure.
• Ensure installations are completed according to project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
• Apply technical drawings and work instructions to support field operations.
• Perform system testing, fault identification, and corrective actions as needed.
• Safely operate a variety of hand and power tools during construction and installation activities.
• Coordinate with team members and stakeholders to support successful project execution.
• Maintain compliance with safety regulations and best practices on active job sites.

Required Qualifications for the Cable Technician include:

• 2+ years of experience in low-voltage, structured cabling, telecommunications, or related technical field environments.
• Hands‑on experience with cabling installation, cable routing, and infrastructure deployment projects.
• Ability to interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and project documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting abilities with a solid mechanical and technical aptitude.
• Must be able to provide and properly utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Exposure to telecommunications systems, electrical installations, or fiber optic technologies is highly preferred.
• Ability to safely lift and move equipment and perform work in physically active job‑site environments.

Compensation for the Cable Technician includes:

• Salary Range: $20 - $28 per hour based on experience
• Including 10%-night shift differential
• Also includes significant overtime opportunities
• Full Benefits Package provided in interview process
