Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking an experienced Low Voltage Cable Technician for a contract role based out of Hartford, CT. You will install, pull, terminate and test low-voltage cabling while handling Cat5e/Cat6, fiber optics and related hardware.

The ideal candidate holds a Connecticut low-voltage license, has cable pulling/terminating experience, works safely on ladders, and can operate independently within a team. Remote work options may apply to this temporary assignment.

Qualifications

• Valid Connecticut low-voltage license (T or C) required.
• Experience with low-voltage, structured cabling, telecom or electrical work.
• Experience pulling and terminating cable.
• Comfortable working on ladders and lifts and using basic hand tools.
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Install, pull, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling.
• Work with Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic, and other communication cabling.
• Install and terminate jacks, patch panels, and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair cabling issues.

Low Voltage Cable Technician

Location: Hartford, CT

We are looking for an experienced Low Voltage Cable Technician to join our team in the Hartford, CT area. This is a great opportunity for someone with hands-on cabling experience who holds a valid Connecticut low-voltage license.

What Youll Be Doing

• Installing, pulling, terminating, and testing low-voltage cabling
• Working with Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic, and other communication cabling
• Installing and terminating jacks, patch panels, and related equipment
• Troubleshooting and repairing cabling issues
• Reading basic prints, diagrams, and work instructions
• Following jobsite and safety requirements
• Working independently and alongside other technicians

What Were Looking For

• Valid Connecticut low-voltage license, such as a T or C license
• Previous low-voltage, structured cabling, telecom, or electrical experience
• Experience pulling and terminating cable
• Comfortable working on ladders and lifts and using basic hand tools
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Experience

• Cat5e/Cat6 installation and termination

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Hartford, CT.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
