Responsibilities

• Install Cat5e and Cat6 copper and fiber optic structured cable.
• Perform terminations, tech room setup, and structured cable management.
• Install wireless access points and audio‑visual equipment.
• Manage project tasks for cable management installations.

Skills

Read and comprehend blueprints

Indoor and outdoor fiber optic fusion splicing

Testing practices including OTDR

Audio-visual and security cabling installation

Knowledge of industry standards (BICSI, NEC, TIA/EIA)

Neat dress and termination of cable bundles

Build out racks and ladder racks

Grounding and bonding knowledge

Proficient troubleshooting skills

Job Overview

Crossbow Systems Ltd. is seeking responsible and motivated people to join our team full-time as Lead Cable Technicians. The Lead Cable Technician manages an assistant or team of technicians on assigned projects. This position is located in the Columbus, OH area and offers an hourly rate between $25.00 and $35.00 per hour, depending on experience and certifications.

Primary Responsibilities

• Install Cat5e and Cat6 copper and fiber optic structured cable.
• Perform terminations, technology room setup, structured cable management, and dress work.
• Install wireless access points, audio‑visual equipment, digital cameras, and related technology equipment.
• Manage project tasks for technology rooms and cable management installations.

Skills We Are Looking For

• Read and comprehend blueprints.
• Perform indoor and outdoor fiber optic fusion splicing.
• Apply testing practices including OTDR, power meter, and copper testing.
• Experience with audio‑visual and security cabling installation.
• Knowledge of industry standards (BICSI, NEC, TIA/EIA).
• Neat dress and termination of cable bundles inside ERs and TRs.
• Build out racks and ladder racks in ERs and TRs.
• Knowledge of grounding and bonding.
• Proficient troubleshooting skills.
• Experience installing conduit.
• OSHA 10 Card required.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• BICSI Level 2 certification preferred.
• Microsoft Office experience preferred.
