Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a contract cable technician to support Cabling & Telecommunications work in Lenoir, NC. You will pull, dress, label Cat6/Cat5e cabling and assist with RJ45 terminations under supervision, gaining exposure to fiber handling.

This onsite role requires adherence to safety and schedule basics. Expect to learn punch-downs, cable testing with basic tools, and collaboration with technicians and supervisors on a daily basis.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of Cat5e/Cat6 cabling standards.
• Experience with RJ45 terminations and patch panels.
• Willingness to work on-site in Lenoir, NC.

Responsibilities

• Pull, dress, and label cabling according to standards.
• Begin RJ45 connector and patch panel terminations with guidance.
• Label and identify cables.
• Learn punch-downs for telecom blocks.
• Support cable testing with basic tools under supervision.
• Gain exposure to fiber cable dressing and handling.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain organized work environment.
• Take direction from technicians and supervisors.
