Job summary

Rentex Computer & Audio Visual Rentals is seeking a Quality Control Technician: Cable in Coppell, TX. You will inspect cable assemblies to ensure conformance to drawings, perform electrical/mechanical tests, and document results for continual improvement.

Collaborative QA work with manufacturing and engineering supports corrective actions and quality metrics. The role requires basic testing knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to read technical drawings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; experience in quality control preferred.
• Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical testing methods.
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Preferred: associate degree or technical cert in QA, electronics, or related field.
• Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620 or equivalent cable standards is a plus.
• Experience using QA software and data entry systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of cable products to verify conformance to drawings.
• Conduct electrical and mechanical testing on cables to detect faults or performance issues.
• Document inspection results and test data in QC systems and generate reports.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Assist in updating QC procedures and work instructions.
• Participate in audits to ensure compliance with standards and customer requirements.
• Maintain calibration and proper function of inspection equipment.
• Cable techs stand for the shift and handle cables weighing up to 60 lbs.
