Job summary

Rentex is seeking a Quality Control Technician – Cable to join our manufacturing-support team. You will perform visual and dimensional inspections of cable products, conduct electrical and mechanical testing, and ensure conformance to engineering drawings and quality standards.

You will document results, collaborate with production and engineering to identify root causes, help update QC procedures, participate in audits, and maintain calibration of equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in quality control or inspection within a manufacturing environment, preferably related to cable or wire products.
• Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical testing methods.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of cable products to verify conformance to engineering drawings and quality standards.
• Conduct electrical and mechanical testing on cables using specialized equipment to detect faults or performance issues.
• Document inspection results and test data accurately in quality control systems and generate reports for management review.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to identify root causes of defects and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist in developing and updating quality control procedures and work instructions to enhance inspection efficiency and effectiveness.
• Participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
• Maintain calibration and proper functioning of inspection and testing equipment.
• Cable techs stand for the entire shift and clean, rewrap, test and reshelve cables all day with some of the cables weighing up to 60lbs.
