Job summary

Rentex in Secaucus, NJ is seeking a Quality Control Technician: Cable to perform visual and dimensional inspections of cable products and conduct electrical and mechanical testing to ensure conformance with specifications.

You will document results, collaborate with production, participate in audits, and help maintain calibration of equipment; stand for the full shift weighing up to 60lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in quality control or inspection within a manufacturing environment, preferably related to cable or wire products.
• Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical testing methods.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of cable products to verify conformance to engineering drawings and quality standards.
• Conduct electrical and mechanical testing on cables using specialized equipment to detect faults or performance issues.
• Document inspection results and test data accurately in quality control systems and generate reports for management review.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to identify root causes of defects and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist in developing and updating quality control procedures and work instructions to enhance inspection efficiency and effectiveness.
• Participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
• Maintain calibration and proper functioning of inspection and testing equipment.
• Cable techs stand for the entire shift and clean, rewrap, test and reshelve cables all day with some of the cables weighing up to 60lbs.
