Job summary

Staffmark Group seeks a Cable Manufacturing Technician in Avon, CT for a direct-hire role. The position sets up and runs extrusion lines, inspects outputs, and ensures quality while adhering to ISO standards.

Pay ranges from $23 to $25 per hour with an 8% 2nd shift differential. 1st and 2nd shifts are available, with benefits and growth opportunities in a professional environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical training preferred.
• Ability to read work instructions, drawings and product specifications.
• Basic computer skills required; strong math skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor extrusion lines and cable equipment.
• Adjust machine settings to meet production and quality standards.
• Review work orders, drawings, specifications, and instructions.
• Inspect and test cable products to ensure quality requirements are met.
• Perform re-spooling, winding, packaging, labeling, and related tasks.
• Enter production and quality data into company systems.
• Troubleshoot equipment and processes to reduce downtime.
• Partner with Engineering for new products and process improvements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area; follow safety and ISO guidelines.

Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Associate degree or technical training preferred
• Ability to read work instructions, drawings, and product specifications
• Basic computer skills required
• Strong math skills, including decimals, fractions, measurements, and conversions

Experience Requirements

• 1-3 years of manufacturing, production, or industrial experience preferred
• Mechanical or technical background preferred
• Experience with extrusion, cable manufacturing, fiber optic products, or related production processes is a plus
• Experience troubleshooting equipment and production issues preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the shift
• Ability to lift, carry, and handle production materials and equipment
• Ability to work around manufacturing machinery and moving equipment
• Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
• Ability to safely handle materials, chemicals, and production tools

Job Duties

• Follow all safety procedures, ISO standards, and manufacturing guidelines
• Support additional production activities as needed
