Job summary

Abacus Technology Corporation, a Federal government contractor, is seeking a cable location and surveying professional in Kentucky. You will analyze blueprints, locate buried utility lines with magnetic/radar/electrical equipment, and pinpoint coordinates using GPS or surveying tools.

This role requires 2+ years of experience, a HS diploma or GED, and US citizenship with an active Secret clearance. You will prepare diagrams and reports, and participate in planning meetings to share findings.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in cable location and surveying.
• HS diploma or GED required.
• Familiar with equipment used for cable location.
• Able to perform depth calculations for buried lines.
• Experience with drafting, GIS, and map-making software.
• Must be a US citizen with an active Secret clearance.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Must meet eligibility for access to classified information.

Able to conduct the necessary calculations to accurately locate buried lines. Able to operate drafting, map-making, and geographic information software. Knowledge of laws and regulations regarding the placement of utility lines. Experience interpreting data. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Able to operate in a customer focused and professional manner that ensures the services are proficient and provided courteously. Must be a US citizen with an active Secret clearance.
