Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Cable & Harness Technician to support the US Navy in Indianapolis, IN. The role involves reading prints and instructions to manufacture cables and harnesses, diagnosing and repairing harnesses, and ensuring high quality workmanship in a safe environment.

The candidate should have a HS or AA degree with relevant assembly experience, strong mechanical aptitude, excellent dexterity, and be able to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Qualifications

• HS or AA degree with 3 years of assembly/production experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• US Citizen and able to obtain Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Reads and follows assembly prints, work instructions, drawings, procedures and specs for cables and harnesses.
• Diagnose and repair damaged or malfunctioning wiring harnesses using tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Identify defects in harnesses and rectify issues such as miswiring, poor connections, or insulation damage.
• Observe workmanship defects and suggest basic improvements to work instructions.
• Perform tasks with high care and quality in a clean, safe environment.
• Assemble cables, harnesses, and adapters from samples and data packages.
• Maintain accurate material control within the work area.
• Provide timely feedback to operations, management and support engineering.
• Follow and maintain accurate process documentation.
• Use a variety of tools as needed.
